I don't want to hear about it....

O.K. I caved, collapsed under the pressure. What can I say? I am weak...sigh.. I am starting another KAL. Vernal Equinox Shawl The designer is from Finland. But not to worry the instructions are in English as well. ( How wonderful to be able to speak more than one language, but I digress as usual)I found this on Ravelry. Patterns are free. There are about 400 people in the group and did I mention it was free? ..lol Frugal ... see I can do it. Ummm I am picking up my wool after work tonight. Cross my heart this is the only wool I am buying this month. I am working on Matt's sweater. The back is finished and I am on the first sleeve and I am half way around the Celtic Knot Shawl so I get a newbie.
Oh yes, I am buying Misti Alpaca black lace weight AND an Addi Turbo Lace needle 3.5 mm. I figure if I am knitting black I might as well treat myself well. I think all this "goth" is rubbing off on me.
Lots of incentive here also. This has to be finished by March 20th, the vernal equinox.

Blocking the Mystery Shawl

This took me about a half and hour to block. I pulled the double bed into the middle of the room so I could walk around it. The shawl was soaked in warm water for about 15 min. to make sure it was well saturated. Then I squeezed out the water, rolled it in a towel and stood on it while Carl fixed the drain plug I broke.....lol
One pile of warm soggy knitting. I have woven the ends in but will not trim the tails until it is dry. just in case it draws in more yarn when stretched.
Threading the edges onto the blocking wires. I can not feature doing this without wires...shudder
Threading on the top edge. Hmm I always liked these sheets...lol

Working on the edge and top corners...not straight yet. Yank some more.

Tug, pull, smooth, pat around and around the bed. almost there.

O.K. I am finished. Note the point detail, sometimes I am so smart I can't stand myself. I did this out of my head as I rounded the corner...short rows..
If I was entering this in a fair I would have threaded another set of wires along the base of the edging then pulled out the points. geeze Louise it's for me lighten up already! This I can live with.
I think it looks pretty spiffy.

I'm in "finishing up mode."

I have finished the Mystery Shawl #10 complete with a wide lace border. It is smashing!

This weekend I will get it blocked. Promise. Pictures of the process to follow....

Next on the agenda is the Celtic Knot Shawl in cherry Malabrigo Lace Weight. This is a quick little edge..start with 8 sts and 12 rows. Easy Peasy..except as usual I had to go overboard and now I an knitting the edging ALL around the shawl...sheesh I never learn.

When this is finished I HAVE to finish the Queen Anne's Lace ( circular shawl) then I can move on.

Now because I have finished the mystery Shawl and the edging on the Celtic Shawl is on it's way I have started the next sweater.

For my mephew Matt who has waited for years for a sweater from Aunt Susan. Some how a photo of a black sweater isn't too exciting..lol Wait till I get to the front! Gotta love the Domiknitrix!

Counting rows on black is nigh unto impossible. Everytime I finish a row I toss a marker into the dish. 10 markers = 10 rows. Ta Dah every 10 rows I add a marker to the knitting.
BTW : This is my favourite ribbing K3 P1
