Sock roulette in progress

Queen Anne Lace.. blocked

Alright I know it is not a perfect circle. OK? I have a permenant divit in my thumb from pushing pins into the mattress. What a Royal Canadian pain in the ass. This is the last circle I knit! I had it blocked once and then I undid it and soaked it and re blocked it again. Enough I am finished. When..IF.. I ever wear it no one will ever know......"wailing" ......'cept me. When it dries I will weave the ends in.

Blocked at last

This pattern came out of a small booklet called Knitted Pineapples I think it was a Leisure Arts publication.
It really is Tweety Bird Yellow.

This is finally finished except for the ends which I have yet to weave in. I started this years ago...thinking that it would be a shawl...lol I made it out of DK, 1st mistake; and I used a synthetic, 2nd mistake...howling with laughter.

This thing weighs a ton ...for a shawl. I will end up folding it over the back of the loveseat in my den.

Kelly's Request

Lacy Wrist Warmers are the thing this year. Patons Stretch Socks make this project even neater. This wool has elastic quality that will keep them from slouching down the arm. Here you see, I have just started the forearm band, the lacy panel is a diamond design. I will update when I get farther along.

Sock Roulette: Toes up..( I will have to take a picture in natural light. it is really purple)

Row 147: There is no way I can spread this out now. 700+ stitches to a round. It feels like a flufffy cloud....lol That's the end of skein 2.

Into clue 4: Generous applications of chocolate recommended to aid in concentration!

Snuggly Baby Sweater

This is a sweater for Liam. There is also a matching hat (yet to finish). I am realy happy with the turn out of this sweater. The size is 2-3yrs. Watch for another with a checker board pattern for Daniel.

I crumbled...

The budget is shot. I bought or rather ordered ( same thing) some pale grey Jagger Spun Zepher Wool-Silk lace weight ( oh drool) to knit a shawl for my friend Jacki. Then I finally found ONE copy of this book in all of London. It has been out of stock for months. Samurai Knitter got one and after reading her post I really want my copy. I am picking it up after work tonight along with the latest Simply Knitting..... I pass magazines onto Julia, Official Keeper of the Library. Corinne has been on a hat kick this winter well, I have been on a lace kick. I am finishing my third one right now, 768 stitches on a round. I made a booboo which meant I had to frog about 1700 stitches. It is very character building. I should be up for sainthood after that. I am also working on the Vernal Equinox I am on clue #4. I also signed up for sock roulette ( see Corinne's post below) I am using Arequipa sock yarn I have the toe done..lol I better get a move on this weekend. Pictures later.

Hats, hats, and more hats....

Winter sucks...it's true ;o) but this year it has had a very strange effect on me. I can't seem to get enough of knitting hats. I don't even wear them myself but I've been driven to create multiple head coverings and plunk them on the closest melon that it fits.

It all started with this one. The infamous chicken hat that was a joke for my brother on his birthday.

Soon after came the "Death Hat". Part of a hat trade I was involved in on Ravelry. The hat I received in return I passed on to my youngest brother's girlfriend. It was blue and white.



That is when the hat bug hit....This is the Binary Cable hat I made my computer driven youngest brother.



Skulls and hearts for my oldest...



Something to keep my fingers busy while I was visiting family over the holidays. This one went to my niece.



A slouchy beret for my youngest. I made my sister in law the same beret only hers was black and not slouchy at all. (forgot to take a picture before I mailed it to her.)



This is my latest one. I liked the heartbeat on it. Not sure who's head is going to get it. Perhaps my youngest niece?



Not all hats have turned out well. I knit one from a vogue pattern that was gawd-aweful. (there's a shocker) It looked like overlapping shells but the shaping was off.

Now that the temperature has risen a tad, I find I am not hunting all the hat patterns I can find. I wonder if the hint of spring has finally broken this obsession....only time will tell.

KAL's are an addiction LOL

Addiction or camaraderie, I'm not sure which but they are fun. The Samurai Knitter has set up a Sock Roulette. What you do is knit one sock and then send it and the yarn for another to the name you are given. In turn you will be sent a single sock and the yarn to make its mate. I can't wait to see mine! *G*

This is what I will be using. Nice bright colours to combat the miserable cold, heapings of snow winter that has recently morphed into cold, windy overcast rainy winter. Besides this will be a nice break from my recent compulsive urge to knit hats. (more on that later)
